![]() While not really beautiful, the Bellevueplatz is one of the busiest places in Zurich - here meet a number of tram lines. It is also strategically located at the beginning of the town center and the shores of Zurich lake. |
![]() In the Münstergasse you will find the Cafe Schwarzenbach, which offers you a wide variety of quality coffees. Some swear that the coffee here is better than at the Starbucks just a few meters down the street. |
![]() Also at the Münstergasse there is the "Tasca Romero", a truly Spanish bar with tapas and jerez. Funnily enough, you will hear a lot of Spanish here, which is always a good sign: If the expats gather at a restaurant, then it must have something original to it. If you want to find jamon serrano, however, you will have to go to Madrid. :-) Everything else you can find here. |
![]() A peek into one of the many small streets in Zurich's Old Town (which is called Niederdorf). |
![]() This statue stands on top of the Stüssibrunnen fountain which has been built in 1575. The fountain is the only multicoloured fountain of Zurich. It is unknown whether the figure is actually Rudolf Stüssi, the former mayor of the city, a real knight... |
![]() Another photo of the Stüssibrunnen fountain. The fountain is situated directly in the old town of Zurich. Next to it you will find the Franziskaner Hotel, perfectly situated for visiting this attractive part of the city. |
![]() The Swiss love their nature, and their cows. But what do you do if you have to live in the old town quarter of Zurich? Easy: You take your cow with you and put it on your balcony. Even if it's just a plastic cow! :-) (Seen at the Niederdorfstrasse.) |
![]() Used books at EOS Buchantiquariat Benz, Kirchgasse 22. I like the photo because it shows how steep the streets in Zurich can be. |
![]() This is the fabulous Grossmünster, seen from the Northeast. The church was built in the 13th century. The two towers mark the skyline of the city, and they can be visited (Mon-Sat 10-17 hrs, Sun 13-17 hrs). |
