Thanks to the very friendly hosts of the Green Brae B&B in Longside we finally found an accommodation for the night at the Rattray Head Lighthouse. We did not stay directly at the lighthouse (built in 1895, but still operating as automated lighthouse), but at the former houses for the lighthouse wards. The hosts, Rob and Val, were very friendly, and our room (number 4) was clean and very quiet. Pure relaxation.
