Let's be honest, the village of Kirriemuir has not much to offer - except that Scottish writer J.M. Barrie (short for Sir James Matthew Barrie) was born here. He was the ninth of ten children, and he left his home aged 13. Later he became world famous with his play and story about Peter Pan (1904), the boy who would not grow up, living in "Never Land". Today a statue reminds visitors to this famous figure.
