We finally made it to Ayr and its promising beach. But to be honest, this was too much for us - the Esplanade along the beach was still quite busy, somewhat changing the nice impression we had when we entered the city. Anyway, Ayr served as a handy stop on our route, even if we did not consider to spend more time there (maybe because Ayr's racecourse is the top attraction here).
