A friend of us invited us to her home,
a small, old-fashioned castle which
they acquired shortly after the Berlin wall came down. It is located in Reichstädt.
Just to give you an idea, here is a first impression.
|

Reichstädt is a small, quiet village
close to Dresden.
|

In former times, our friends' family used
to own the castle. Here a shot from the garden...
|

...and from a distance. Today, her family is renovating each part
of the castle, which is a laborous work and expensive enterprise.
|

Whenever some money is available, they continue
to improve the building. Of course, the German state does not provide financial aids, even if the castle is protected
by law, meaning that...
|

...they cannot do the changes to the building
as they wish, but have to ask the government office
first for permission!
|

Now we are going inside and enjoy the
view towards the garden!
|

This is the "Hunters Room". Here, breakfast
is being served.
|

And here is a detail of the ballroom, which
has already been renovated. Today, it is available
for parties and events.
|

A shot across the main ballroom
before the evening event.
|

The evening event: cozy lighting,
a warm summer night, and delicious food!
|

Yes, you can even have hot parties at
Schloss Reichstädt!
