This is just a set of photos covering a short trip to Punta Cana, situated at the east coast of the Dominican Republic.
Our hotel was the Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort & Spa, and this photo shows the beach that belongs to the hotel.
|

The beach of the Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort & Spa is quite long and rather narrow, but made from fine white
sand that gently dips into he sea. You walk directly from the hotel grounds onto the beach with its thousands of palms.
The colors are as fantastic and captivating as on the picture - an endless motion of white, blue and green.

It can get crowed here, especially when the Germans occupy the sunchairs early in the morning with their towels,
one of those very annoying habits. However, as the resort offers plenty of space, also at the swimming pools, there
is room for everyone.
|

An evening photo: the fading sunlight dips the empty beach into a beautiful twilight, with the mighty clouds adding contrast
to the scene. It is still warm enough to just take a walk along the beach.
|

The Grand Palladium Bavaro Resort & Spa offers "all inclusive ultra" which includes free tennis courts (along with
several other sports), free windsurfing equipment, kayaks, and (small) catamarans. We feel that the value for money is very good.
|

Another nice photo of the palms at Punta Cana beach. In fact, we were there just for holidays, so please do not expect too much
of sightseeing from us, rather...
|

...more palms swaying gently in the (sometimes strong) wind.
|

The light in Punta Cana is awesome. It allows for photos like this, with palms casting beautiful shadows across the
fine white sand...
|

...and for stunning photos of your SO on the beach. Mind you, this shot was done with Petra's tiny Canon Ixus 60 - and even this camera did a good job! Makes me wonder, though, how much better the shots would have been if I had brought my pro equipment? But then again, we were there for a
vacation. :-)
