Spring Auer Dult, Munich, Germany (2006)
The "Auer Dult" is a traditional fleamarket that happens three times a year on the
Mariahilfplatz in Munich, right next to the Mariahilf Kirche. The weather on 1st May was excellent, and we took the
opportunity to visit the market with the camera. The "Dult" is much more traditional
and smaller than Oktoberfest, and it can be tracked back into the 14th century.
You can find almost everything, from old books and antique furniture to auto polish
creams and other snake oil. Of course, there are a number of stands (or "Standln" as
it is called locally) dedicated to food. You will find very few tourists here, which
makes it even more interesting for those [tourists] who actually go there.
