Paragliding, Tenerife, Spain
In November we did a short break from the treadmill and escaped to beautiful Tenerife for a week. So far we have not
been very fond of the Canaries, but this has changed with this trip. They have almost everything: beaches, food,
nature, mountains, excellent weather, and beautiful views.
One day we drove from Santa Cruz de Tenerife to the National Park Parque Nacional del Teide using the TF24 road.
This road takes you to 2,300 meters height (from sea level!) and is packed with breathtaking viewpoints, but when we
reached the observatory, we noticed a paraglider preparing for his jump. We waited for a few minutes and I could do
some excellent photos - this being one of them.
Apparently, Tenerife is the perfect area for paragliding. Up to twenty different launch places catering the needs of
beginners and professionals alike. Some even allow you to land on the beach!
