And this is "Big Mama" dune, the main attraction at the Sossusvlei. It is situated about 65 kilometers (40 miles) from the entrance gate. The last 5 kilometers (3 miles) are only allowed for 4x4, but it is highly recommended to use the shuttle service anyway. Now, from the air the dunes look really small.
