Ah, we did not mention our rental car until now, or did we? We had a good and reliable blue Volkswagen Polo Classic 1.6 (Group C) by Avis Namibia. After the problems we had with Hertz in Scotland, we returned to using Avis for this trip (see tips for your trips for details). Anyway, what can we say? The car was great for a sedan, but the roads would have called for a 4x4. Something we became quickly aware of once we turned to a gravel road (C39) once again in Khorixas...
