Due to its exposed location, the village of Deia has been the target of pirates in the past. Today, the pirates are long gone (and have been replaced by real estate agents). By the way, if you meet a lot of Germans here, don't be surprised - a German public broadcaster filmed a TV series here ("Hotel Paradies"), and since it aired, Germany collectively has "discovered" this lovely spot.
