Menaggio panorama

Now we are going to take you from Gravedona along the western shore of Lago di Como, towards south. You can do this either with your car, or by boat (which we recommend). Here we see the town of Menaggio from the lake.

Menaggio seen from Lago di Como

Here we are a bit closer to the town, and you can already recognize the beauty of Menaggio: Old houses in a very good condition, red rooftops, a nice promenade.

Menaggio Lake Como

Another nice view of Menaggio with its many restaurants and cafes.

Menaggio Grand Hotel Victoria

Menaggio has a long history of tourism, and the "Grand Hotel Victoria" (on the right side of the image) is one of the witnesses of this history: it was built in 1890 (renovated recently). If you stay here, you should definitely opt for a room with lake view. It hardly can get any better at the lake. Just imagine waking up and seeing the sun rise over the lake from your room! :-)

Menaggio Promenade

Another shot from the lake: You can see the palm trees that line up at Menaggio's beautiful promenade. The climate at Lago di Como is quite pleasant: It is fairly warm from May to September (average highs more than 20 degrees Celsius), while it can get rather chilly from November to March (average lows below 5 degrees Celsius).

Menaggio, seen once more from the lake.

Grand Hotel Menaggio Lago di Como

Menaggio has another beautiful Victorian hotel, the "Grand Hotel Menaggio". It advertises itself as a high-class hotel, and just looking at the prominent location makes you agree. The hotel with its 94 rooms was completely renovated in 2008. The rooms now offer all comfort such as satellite TV, fridge-bar and air-conditioning. We strongly recommend to book a room with lake view as this is certainly one of the highlights of the hotel.

Menaggio Centro

But now let's take a short walk around Menaggio. This is the (tiny) harbour with the "Hotel du Lac" right behind it at the Via Mazzini, 27.
