The Senat Square Senaatintori and the Cathedral.
It was the time of the second Iraq war, and the people of Helsinki
used the snow on the steps to clarify their opinion.

The Senat Square Senaatintori seen from the steps of the Cathedral. Here, the Helsinki episode of the movie Night On Earth by Jim Jarmuch has been filmed.

Two pedestrians walking on the frozen Töölönlahti, presumably coming
home from Helsinki downtown.

The hottest parties of Helsinki happen at the Kaarle XII on Thursday nights. Or, as one of my Finnish friends says, "here, you'll be able to see how shy Finns can be". Be prepared for Finnish pop music of the past. Bizarre! :-)

Nightly view from our room # 720 at the SAS Radisson Hesperia. To the left you would see Töölönlahti. The street below Mannerheimintie, which leads directly to Helsinki downtown.

The SAS Radisson Hesperia Hotel (now Crowne Plaza Helsinki). It is beautifully located directly at Töölönlahti with nice
views and convenient access to public transport towards the town center. The airport bus has a stop not
far away, so it is easy to get from and to the airport!
