Merikatu Waterfront Helsinki

The houses of Merikatu are looking straight out to the sea. For this shot we went out to the frozen sea. During summertime, you would find the Merisatama harbour in the front.

Helsinki during Winter

Another shot from our walk across the ice.

Swimming and Sunbathing in Helsinki

This place at the Eteläinen Uunisaari is popular for swimming and sunbathing during summertime, but now (in Februar) the shower is just frozen...!

Finlandia Hall Helsinki

The Finlandia Hall at the Mannerheimintie.

Museum of Contemporary Art Helsinki

Nightly shot of the Kiasma (Museum of Contemporary Art) at the Mannerheimintie.

Zetor Restaurant Helsinki

One night we went to the Zetor restaurant. It is a rustical place that is always packed with tourists. Petra held up the menu which is designed like a Finnish newspaper (and very funny). Don't worry, it is available in English as well.

Esplanade Park Helsinki

At the Esplanadepark (sitting between Pohjoisesplanadi and Eteläesplanadi) you will find the national writer Johan Ludwig Runeberg (1804-1877). He wrote the text of the Finnish national hymn.

Eläinntarhanlahti Helsinki

At the Eläinntarhanlahti.

Forum Center Helsinki

If you want to do some shopping, give the Forum at the Mannerheimintie a try. A nice place consisting of many shops, ranging from affordable to expensive.
