Directly at the Place de la Cathedrale Strasbourg you will find the Maison Kammerzell
(on the right side of the photo). It was built in 1589 on top of the existing house
which dates back to 1467. Right across the building was our hotel, the Hotel Cathedrale, which
we highly recommended for travelers.

This is the view from our hotel room at the Hotel Cathedrale. As you can see, it had started
to rain in the meantime, so we took a little rest.
|

The main entrance of the Cathedrale Notre-Dame shows several impressing details.
|

Here, the cathedral is seen from the Place du Chateau.
|

This is the Palais du Rhin situated at the Place de la Republique.
Construction started in 1883. Originally the building was intended for the emperor.
Today it contains - offices!
|

At the Place de la Republique you will also find the Bibiotheque Nationale (National Library).
In this shot, one of the modern suburban trains passes by.
|

The River Ill flows gently through the city, here at the Quai des Bateliers.
You would never think that Strasbourg is the second largest domestic port of France.
|

Now we continue our trip, heading south for Obernai. Obernai is a charming
village that dates back into the year 1240. This is a the market place with
its historic houses.
|

One of the city walls of Obernai. The evening sun illuminates the tower
while the dark clouds in the back tell of the rain that came down before.
