Armacao de Pera in 1987. As you can see, the village was still
under construction at that time.
Nossa Senhora da Rocha is a beautiful small church sitting on top
of a cliff which protrudes toward the sea. It is located close to
Armacao de Pera.
Right below the cliff, there was a fantastic beach (photo from 1987).
I do not know whether the area has changed, but I guess so.
Albufeira has always been a charming busy village for tourists, even back in 1987.
This tourist shop carries typical goods from Algarve.
I am sure that you will find something beautiful for your home.
In 1987 we took our old, sturdy Mercedes Benz 200D/8 and drove
from Kiel to Algarve. Here we are already in central Portugal.
While we were at the Nossa Senhora da Rocha beach,
all of a sudden a (former) fisherman came along,
offering guided tours to the caves. It is really
worth it, even if you look somewhat funny in the boat. :-)
The Olhao Fruit Market is a busy place. You will be able
to get the best fish you can imagine!
Praia da Carriagem on a clear sunny day. One of the wonderful beaches close to Aljezur
in the west of Algarve.
