Just take the ring road and head on straight for the Costiera Amalfitana. |  All of a sudden, it will be green and peaceful, like here in Meta, where the comune of Sorrento begins. The large public beach makes you wonder where all the noise and dirt of Naples has gone. |
 This is the town center of Sorrento, the Piazza Tasso. As in every Italian town, the traffic will drive you crazy. Sorrento is very popular, especially with Brits and Americans, so prepare to see some tourists. In the old town of Sorrento, there are a number of tourist traps, and we recommend to avoid these alltogether. If you want to have a wonderful dinner, go for Trattoria Bar S. Anna Sul Mare at the Marina Grande. Way better than everything you get in town. |

A wonderful camp site located right above Marina Grande, the atmospheric old harbour of Sorrento. While it takes a few minutes
walking back to the town center (where all the restaurants, shops, and hotels are), the camp site definitely has its advantages:
it greets you with silence, and you can enjoy the fantastic view across the bay of Naples. The site is situated on a hill, so
maneuvering with a caravan may not be for the faint-hearted.
