![]() This is the beautiful Nuy Valley Guest House, rated by AA as one of the best in South Africa in 2001. When we asked them for accommodation, they told us that they have got rooms available, but that a wedding party would be going on this night. So we decided to drive a bit further to Robertson. |
![]() Robertson is a peaceful small town, surrounded by farmland. The town is best known for their race horses. |
![]() We finally found a room at the Grand Hotel, a charming 19th century Victorian Hotel built in 1901. The rooms are renovated and very good. |
![]() From our room we could see the Langeberg mountains just north of Robertson. |

![]() The offical sign of Robertson consists of horse, ostrich, and wine. These three brought wealth to the city at the beginning of the last century. |
![]() On your way east, we recommend to drive through the Langeberg Mountains. We took this photo between Barrydale and Swellendamm. |
