


The MacMillan Provincial Park (aka Cathedral Grove) features trails through old rain
forest with trees up to 1,000 years old. A trail leads you through the park and explains the
forest. It is located 31 km west of Parksville, and we recommend to come early as there
is limited parking space.

From Sproat Lake Provincial Park you can see the world's largest water bombers resting on
the lake. They are used to fight forest fires. Each bomber has a wing span of 61m, and can
carry 27t of water.
