The next day we hopped over to Franschhoek to spend a night there. Franschhoek
is a busy little town along the Cape Wineroute, and we found a fantastic accommodation
at the "La Provence Vineyard Cottages". It is situated 2 km outside of Franschhoek, and
we slept in one of the three charming cottages...

...surrounded by the vineyard of the van Rensburg family. The breakfast was delicious,
and the three dogs were in a very playful mood (we took them on a short walk through the
vineyard).
|

You will find the Franschhoek Monument at the end of the Huguenot Road. It was built
in 1948 as reminder to the first settlers of the area.
|

From the Franschhoek Monument you should drive all the way up to the Franschhoek pass.
You will spot many beautiful sights like this...
|

...and this: The Franschhoek Valley, seen from the Franschhoek Pass.
|

Once you leave Franschhoek behind you on your way East, the roads will become
curvier, and the vineyards will be replaced with rocks and bushes.
